From that time to the present day, water laterals have been added through an as-built intake process along with supporting water infrastructure. Water laterals are maintained by the City of Auburn’s Maintenance and Operations crew and are periodically retired or replaced via improvement projects or new development construction. The dataset is maintained in a Enterprise Geodatabase and is regularly updated to reflect sewer system expansions, rehabilitations, and retirements. This feature class will undergo a thorough inventory process in 2027.</statement>

<stepDesc>As-built drawings and related engineering documents are being reviewed to verify and update the spatial location and attribute information of existing water mains. Discrepancies between existing GIS data and as-built records are identified and corrected using as-built information. Updates included adjusting feature geometry for accuracy and revising attributes such as installation date, ownership, diameter, flow direction, and status. All updates are performed in ArcGIS Pro, with attribute domains and subtypes enforced to maintain data integrity. Quality control checks, including topology validation and domain compliance, are conducted following updates to ensure consistency and accuracy of the dataset.</stepDesc>
