<statement>The Storm Catch Basins feature class was initially imported into GIS using existing CAD drawings circa 2004. From that time to the present day, assets have been added through an as-built intake process along with other storm infrastructure as well as during a comprehensive storm inventory effort ending in 2023. COA storm catch basins are maintained by the City of Auburn’s Maintenance and Operations crew and are periodically retired or replaced via improvement projects or new development construction. The dataset is maintained in a Enterprise Geodatabase and is regularly updated to reflect storm system expansions, rehabilitations, and retirements.</statement>
<prcStep>
<stepDesc>As projects continue throughout the City of Auburn, assets are updated and retired from the storm infrastructure system. As-built construction plans record the installation/retirement of storm infrastructure and are processed by GIS staff at a delay of approximately one to two years from in-field action. All edits to the feature class honor QC standards created during the storm inventory effort to best align with sound data practices. This process will be on going for the life time of this feature class.</stepDesc>

<stepDesc>As-built drawings and related engineering documents were reviewed to verify and update the spatial location and attribute information of storm manholes along with GPS data for spatial location and elevation. Discrepancies existing in GIS data were identified and corrected using as-built information as well as field verification. Updates included adjusting feature geometry for accuracy and revising attributes such as installation date, ownership, depth, flow direction, and status. All updates were performed in ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap, with attribute domains enforced to maintain data integrity. Quality control checks, including topology validation and domain compliance, were conducted following updates to ensure consistency and accuracy of the dataset.</stepDesc>
