<idPurp>The Sewer Auxiliary Equipment feature class represents the City of Auburn’s sewer system general auxiliary equipment, capturing the location and attributes of the equipment tied into the city's underground sewer infrastructure.</idPurp>
<idAbs>

The Sewer Auxiliary Equipment feature class is a geospatial point dataset representing the locations of auxiliary sanitary sewer equipment via points. The dataset includes detailed information on the type, location, age, and ownership of each sewer auxiliary equipment piece on record. It is maintained as part of the city's asset management system and is updated regularly to reflect changes such as new construction, repairs, or replacements. The data is used by Auburn's Public Works Department, engineers, and GIS professionals for analysis, planning, and operational tasks such as monitoring system performance, identifying maintenance needs, and conducting capacity studies. Additionally, the Sewer Auxiliary Equipment feature class supports compliance with regulatory requirements related to wastewater management and facilitates the development of infrastructure improvement plans.

</idAbs>

<statement>The Sewer Auxiliary Equipment feature class was developed using a combination of original as-built drawings, field survey data collected by City of Auburn staff, and existing GIS data layers. Initial spatial data were digitized from imported CAD drawings in 2004. Attribute information was compiled and cross-checked from maintenance and operations records, asset management databases, and recent system inspections. Data integration and quality control processes were employed to ensure accuracy and consistency. The dataset is maintained in a Enterprise Geodatabase and is regularly updated to reflect sewer system expansions, rehabilitations, and retirements and is undergoing a current sewer inventory effort as of 2026.
</statement>
<prcStep>
<stepDesc>As-built drawings and related engineering documents were reviewed to verify and update the spatial location and attribute information of sewer auxiliary equipment. Discrepancies between existing GIS data and as-built records were identified and corrected. Updates included adjusting feature geometry for accuracy and revising attributes such as installation date, ownership, and status. All updates were performed in ArcGIS Pro, with attribute domains and subtypes enforced to maintain data integrity. Quality control checks, including topology validation and domain compliance, were conducted following updates to ensure consistency and accuracy of the dataset.</stepDesc>
